Pro bono designer of Jaguar Madidi Hotel, Bolivia: 12/05–9/2006

• Madidi Jaguar Hotel, Alto Madidi, Bolivia                12/05-7/06
  
  • SD, DD, and CD of a remote destination hotel made of locally sourced materials.
  • With the WCS, while living in Bolivia, worked with Spanish-speaking project manager to define requirements of a planned community owned hotel.  Developed prototypical forms used across all building types.  Presented designs to local authority council that has been promised control and revenues from project in turn for preserving community land used as access to illegal wood and game poaching.  Working with local lumberyards and thatch weavers, estimated material cost.   The project modeled after a similar hotel, should help protect one of the most diverse national parks in the world: El Parque Nacional Madidi.
